Tennille McCoy has spent her life creating pathways to opportunity for workers, families, and communities throughout New Jersey. As a workforce leader, community champion, and State Assemblywoman, Tennille has delivered real results. Now she’s ready to bring that experience to Washington to continue fighting for every family across NJ-12.
Rooted in New Jersey. Committed to Our Future.
Tennille R. McCoy is the daughter of New Jersey’s public schools, a product of hard work, and a lifelong believer that every family deserves a fair shot. Her career spans public service, workforce development, labor rights, and community empowerment. With degrees in Public Administration, Labor & Employment Relations (Rutgers), and a Global Executive MBA (NYU Stern / LSE / HEC Paris), Tennille brings unmatched experience and heart to the work she does for New Jersey residents. From empowering women through the New Jersey Black Women's Collective to supporting youth through the Samuel McCoy III Scholarship Fund, Tennille has always led by lifting others — and she’s ready to do the same for the families of NJ-12. I am the daughter of small business owners, and I’ve made it my mission to advocate for policies that strengthen small businesses like mine. I champion access to capital through low-interest loan programs and grants, with a focused emphasis on underserved communities. I also support clearer crowdfunding regulations to help startups secure funding and I’m committed to tax incentives and streamlined tax filing processes that ease the financial burden on small business owners. Healthcare is the backbone of business stability. My father had his first heart attack at 28, a personal reminder of how crucial affordable healthcare is for families and for the long-term vitality of small businesses. I promote policies that enable small businesses to offer comprehensive health insurance and wellness programs to their employees, while also pushing for broader access to affordable healthcare options for business owners and their families. On the regulatory front, I advocate for relief through thoughtful legislation that reduces unnecessary red tape and establishes a regular review process to evaluate the real-world impact on small businesses. I also support robust job training programs and partnerships with educational institutions to help small businesses recruit and train qualified workers, ensuring a skilled and adaptable workforce. It’s widely recognized that about one in five people becomes an entrepreneur. To translate that potential into opportunity, I focus on expanding access through federal contracting initiatives, export assistance programs, and community supports like local business grants and incubators. I champion diversity and inclusion, prioritizing support for minority-owned and women-owned businesses, and I promote sustainability initiatives that incentivize green practices and the adoption of renewable energy solutions. In short, my priorities are clear: improve access to capital and funding pathways; expand affordable healthcare; streamline regulation without sacrificing essential safeguards; strengthen workforce development through education partnerships; grow small businesses via federal contracting, exports, and local grants; and advance inclusion and sustainability to build a more resilient, equitable small-business ecosystem.
